Mr. Chartier, I'm thinking a lot of first responders with a boatload of guts saved a few during 9/11 and Oklahoma. Fire/Rescue/Medics run in to stuff others are running from, to pull others out and stop whatever is occurring whether fire, hazmat, flood or other. Thank God those people were created with the mentality to fight death for others every day.
As far as the Mass Shooting people were saved and the "Mass" wasn't attached to the shooting 'cause by the Grace of God, some one with Guts was there with a Gun. Federal estimates are hundreds of thousands of times a year.
Bad crazy people are with us, to deal with them we need good people with tools to deal with them. That's why we give Police and Soldiers weapons.
