Westbay Community Action is on a search for a Warwick board member.
Westbay Community Action, Inc. (Westbay) has served the people in Kent County for over 53 years. Westbay assists economically disadvantaged Kent County residents achieve and sustain self-sufficiency and stability. Annually Westbay serves over 9,500 households representing approximately 21,000 individuals.
“Westbay is in need of a board member from Warwick who has a strong desire to serve the community and a belief in our mission to empower and mobilize people through our programs, partnerships and advocacy to gain greater self-sufficiency,” Westbay executive director Paul Salera said in a release.
Board Members should be familiar with the needs of the people they represent; be 18 years of age and over; live or work in Warwick and serve a three year term.
The Board of Directors meets at 3 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month. It sets agency policies including human resource, organization, fiscal and program. The board establishes the overall program goals and priorities, approves funding requests and insures compliance with all contract provisions and laws.
