Ruth Ingeborg Durlacher, 85, of Warwick, passed peacefully at home on Monday, June 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Warwick on February 14, 1935, Ruth was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence V. and Anna I. (Wahlberg) Palmquist. Ruth was a graduate of Lockwood High School, Class of 1953 and later graduated from the former Bryant College, Class of 1956, earning a Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Sciences. Ruth was employed as a Secretary for various Law Firms and Doctor’s Offices and later was employed at Met Life Insurance Company where Ruth was the Executive Secretary to the President of Property and Liability Division of Met Life Insurance Company. She retired in 1999 after twenty-three years of service. A resident of Warwick most of her life, Ruth was an active member of Warwick Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking, sewing and gardening but especially cherished time spent with her family.
Ruth is survived by a daughter: Sherry A. Gauvin and husband, Marc of Warwick; three cherished grandchildren: Jaime A. Poirier and husband, Chris of Barrington, Monique Titchenell and husband, Marc of Warwick and Simone Gauvin of Warwick; and three great-grandchildren: Garrett & Charlotte Poirier and Jack Titchenell. She was the sister of the late Caroline E. Palmquist and the late Philip E. Palmquist, Sr.
Due to the current health regulations, all funeral services are private. Ruth will be laid to rest with her beloved parents and sister in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Warwick.
