Mothers and grandmothers are free at Roger Williams Park Zoo on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12, when accompanied by one paying child.
Spend the day visiting 40 acres of beautiful surroundings and experience the joy of wild life from around the globe.
While visiting check out the zoo’s new exhibit Faces of the Rainforest, where guests will feel like they are deep in the heart of South America as they explore a world full of wonder and mystery. Patrons will enjoy an immersive wildlife experience in this lush paradise and observe a rare and intimate look at fascinating wildlife marveling at a free flying aviary, water slide for giant otters, adorable primates, captivating marine life, interesting amphibians and beguiling reptiles.
Take mom or grandma out to lunch at either Serengeti or Wilderness Cafe or bring a picnic and enjoy a sunny spot to relax. The day won’t be complete without experiencing the activities at Explore and Soar, including the Soaring Eagle Zip ride as well as a ride on a camel and train.
Before going home, visit Carousel Village, only a quarter mile from the zoo’s parking, and enjoy a traditional carousel, pony ride and ice cream at Frenchy’s Café.
