Timothy J. “Timmy” Chant, a beloved husband, father, brother, educator, coach, and friend passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024. He shared 31 years of marriage with his best friend and wife, Kirsten (Carter) Chant, together they raised two sons, Brady and Drew. Born in Kingston, NY he was the youngest of 7 children born to the late William S. and Patricia (Brady) Chant.

Timmy had an intense enthusiasm and passion towards every aspect of his life. The connections he made with family and friends came from a place of love and genuine interest in their endeavors. He had an ability to make everyone around him feel special. He was adventurous and young at heart, spending his time surrounded by nature he greatly enjoyed sharing those experiences with family and friends both in tandem, as well as through his lifestyle brand, Galavant Multisport. He was a devoted and accomplished educator in Westwood, MA where he spent the last 17 years making an impact on his students, athletes, and colleagues. He cared deeply about his work, his students and athletes got all his attention, he worked from his heart directly for the kids. Family was always first and foremost for Timmy, he and his wife enjoyed the simple moments, sitting by the grill or fire, sharing thoughts and laughter at the end of their day. They loved creating memories in their home or on the beach, with family and friends. One of the great joys of Timmy’s life was watching his sons compete. He spent countless hours cheering on his boys, celebrating wins, and supporting their endeavors. Timmy lived his life with intention and was genuine in his actions and friendships.

Timmy was the devoted father to Brady and Drew; brother to Cate Belitsos (husband, Steve), Barbara Colton (husband, Paul), Elizabeth Chant (partner, Jill), Dan Chant (wife, Jody), Paul Chant (wife, Anne) and the late Steven Chant (wife, Sue).  He was the son-in-law of Dana and Jane Carter; brother-in-law of Kevin Carter (wife, Margaret) and Scott Carter (wife, Christina) and the uncle of Gerry, Patrick, Ariel, Sarah, Emily, Meg, Thomas, Luke, Libby, Jacqueline, Jessica, Ethan, Alexandra, Tate, Hanna, Owen and Jack.
