The Community College of Rhode Island is hosting its Fall 2020 Enrollment Open House at the Knight Campus Tuesday, Nov. 19, to provide current Rhode Island high school students with the opportunity to get a head start on obtaining free college tuition through the state’s Promise Scholarship program. Returning students and adult learners who are ready to get back on track with their education are also encouraged to attend.

The Open House will be held from 4-7 p.m. Students can apply for college on-site for free, learn about CCRI’s degree and certificate programs through its Academic and Career Paths, meet with faculty and advisors, and get started on applying for their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FASFA.

Information will also be available on CCRI’s Joint Admissions Agreement transfer program with Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island.

The Promise program offers two years of free college tuition to 2020 high school graduates or GED recipients younger than 19 years old. Students who qualify must enroll full time, earn 30 credits per year and maintain specific grade point average guidelines to remain eligible.

CCRI is at the forefront of improving the ways community college students are prepared to advance their education and career prospects. This May, the college achieved its highest two- and three-year graduation rates in more than 20 years and awarded more credentials than ever before.
