What a great article from the perspective of a fire fighter’s wife!

I can only imagine the sacrifices these families make on a daily basis.

My friends husband is a firefighter, so I do see some of what was spoken of in this article. I see the sadness when he has come home from a child drowning. I’ve seen him miss his children’s sports, school events and holidays.

Is this part of what comes with the job, yes it is. But it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be adequately compensated for it.

I go to work every day from 9-5 and know I get to come home that night. These selfless men and women go to work every day, not knowing if they will come home to their loved ones. That must be such a hard burden to live with every day.

Thank you for your perspective as I hope it opens some of these close minded individuals.
