Report Inappropriate Comments

Dexter and Kim,

I would like to say that Jim did include some false information in his post that I would like to clear up. The study from the University of Alaska Fairbanks only concluded that fire could not have caused the collapse of WTC 7, which was contrary to what NIST claimed. They also stated that the only way they could replicate WTC 7's collapse was a global failure involving the near-simultaneous failure of every column in the building.

In their research paper, they made no claims whatsoever that controlled demotion caused the building to collapse along with any other type of conspiracy theory like Jim claimed in his post.

Given that no steel structure has ever collapsed due to fire before, identifying the correct cause behind this collapse is important for public safety & building design. I can assure you this research was done by PhD's in engineering, not conspiracy theorists.

Please consider reading their research paper here:

All public comments and discrepancies on their research are welcome up until November 1st. These will be taken into account before publishing their final report later this year.
