Thayer Arena was busy for Saturday’s public skating session, where it was surely warmer on the ice than being outside. There were “old pros,” as evidenced by some flyers – both young and old – and a good number of beginners among the more than 150 people circulating counter-clockwise on the rink. Rink staff is quick to assist with milk crates and walkers for those uneasy on the ice. The charge is $3, and children age 6 and under are admitted at no cost. Public skating is held Friday from 3:45 to 5 p.m., Saturday from 3:15 to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. (Warwick Beacon photos)
