The APRA can’t help. The issue is not just a document, but an event. The audited financial statement must be formally and publicly submitted by the mayor to the city council, as required by the charter. No submission means a completed statement does not exist, as far as the council is concerned, and everyone else as well. This is important, because the council has oversight. The council is being obstructed in that duty. Councilman Rix, Merolla and the other council members need to explain why this law has been shelved, and why the related public hearings are suppressed. My question is fair to ask, but they are refusing to answer. When we instead see council members more concerned about “ominous” stock photos and helping business associates, we see the city is being sold out.
