I read with interest the article about the parade to be held on July 20th to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing. I am curious as to who is footing the bill for this parade. Also, I wonder what different groups will be participating. I applaud Lennie Barham and his committee for doing this but I wonder if they could provide assistance to the City of Warwick and help them organize Memorial Day Parades again. I find it very troubling that there is not one person who can help organize that and/or there aren't funds available for such a parade. There are many Warwick residents who grew up with the Memorial Parade being one of the most important events in our community. As a young girl with two siblings, we used to be thrilled for that day to arrive. We were so proud to have our Dad be one of the Warwick Police Department motorcycle officers leading the parade, We have many happy memories from those years and it is a shame that it has not continued. I hope that I can look forward to May of 2020 when the parade might be reinstituted to honor all those who died for our country.
