Jimmy,

Are you stating that the Mayor is lying to the news? Can you honestly state that you know that no one (current or former) has been contacted? That is a very big statement to make, don't you think? Wouldn't they be bound by the same rule of not discussing an ongoing investigation? You made certain statements that there were no investigations numerous times, however, the Mayor went on the news to state that there is an ongoing investigation. Either he is lying or you don't really know.

By mess, I mean everyone leaving this issue with loose ends in the lap of the acting chief. It hardly seems fair that everyone that would have been main points of contact have all left the department. He was left holding the bag and having to provide information or explanation when he wasn't originally involved with any of the contract negotiations and interaction with the former Mayor and city council. . That is what I mean by mess. I don't think it was right to have him be the one where the buck stops.

Couldn't agree with you more about the release of the findings of the investigation. I have stated many times that I have nothing but admiration and praise for the job our firemen do for our city. I do have a very big issue with the possibility of a shell game with taxpayer funds. We need everything to be completely transparent moving forward. Everyone on the same page and working together to ensure the WFD is treated fairly and that the city council is working to make the best use of the tax dollars. Unlike the WFD, these men and women were elected to make sure our best interests are protected. Can we at least agree on that?
