Captain,

I am refering to 2016-2017 accountability sheets. I sincerely believe you are reading them incorrectly. Whatever floaters that are available are used to fill vacation vacancies first, then any other vacancies as they arise. If you don't have enough floaters to cover even the vacation vacancies of course overtime is going to go up. I ask you two look at two days: 7/19/16 Day shift and 3/9/17 Day shift. Same platoon, nearly same number of vacancies. One of those shifts occured with only 2 floaters on the shift and one occurred with 8. You count the overtime difference. But even with only 2 floaters, they cover two of the vacation vacancies. The only way every single vacation would be covered at overtime pay is if there wasn't a single floater on the entire department.

When the department is fully staffed nearly all vacation is covered at straight pay.

COS are logged on the accountability sheets, but you know that already. you just like busting chops.
