I was in attendance for this meeting. I was absolutely appalled by the behavior of the teachers and their supporters. It was extremely unprofessional and counterproductive. I completely understand the position of the WTU and Netcoh's statement regarding the legitimacy of the teachers being sick, however, it is clearly a side step to stay on the right side of the law. It was a deliberate sickout to force the hand of the Mayor and the WSC. It was manipulative and directly out of the union's play book. We understand that you need to have a contract. We also understand that you have clearly given up trying to be adults and professional to have stooped to this level of petulance.

How would you - teachers and school administration - respond if students acted towards you the way you acted at that meeting? The example was set and it was completely out of bounds.
