WPD past & present topic of Feb. 12 library presentation


The Warwick Historical Society and Officer Dan Maggiacomo will provide a look at the Warwick Police Department in the past and the present at Warwick Public Library on Tuesday, February 12 at 7 p.m. Explore the history of the Warwick Police Department and learn how its evolved to keep up with the changing needs of the Warwick community. Discover how the Citizens Police Academy connects the community with the police and find out how to stay safe, including how to respond if a dangerous situation develops in a public space. Dan Maggiacomo is a 17-year veteran of the Warwick Police Department, an officer in the District Three Office of the Community Policing Unit, and the Citizens Police Academy Coordinator. Representatives of other police departments should also attend. No one does it better than the WPD. They even solved a murder case from 2013. Many police departments earned high grades but nowhere is there a better police department than Warwick, in my opinion.
