Will there be anyone at the polls on Election Day?

Posted

Dottie McCarthy, director of the Warwick Board of Canvassers, did some quick math yesterday and with more than 24,000 voters having already cast their votes by mail or early voting calculated even if all of the city’s remaining registered voters turned out at the polls Nov. 3, fewer than 1,700 voters would turn out at each of the city’s polls. Lines of early voters stretched around City Hall Monday afternoon braving the wind and the cold to cast ballots. On average the wait was 35 minutes. Michael Rooney of the board greeted voters and kept the line moving inside. Be sure to read Thursday’s Beacon for the local election results.
