LARCENY

At approximately 8:18 a.m. on Sept. 7, Officer Nicholas DiNardo responded to a Helen Avenue home for a report of larceny from a motor vehicle overnight.

At the scene, the reporting party told DiNardo that both his vehicle and his wife’s vehicle had been entered and rummaged through sometime between 9:30 p.m. the previous night and that morning. A few items were missing, including the man’s wallet and a work bag. Both vehicles were believed to have been unlocked.

The reporting party told DiNardo that a credit card from his stolen wallet had been used to make purchases at 7-Eleven and Shell locations in Connecticut. Those charges had already been deemed fraudulent and refunded.

The matter was documented.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

Just before 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 8, Officer Tomas Bogusz responded to a Fletcher Street residence for a report of a possibly stolen motor vehicle parked at the location.

Bogusz arrived at the scene and ran a check of the registration on the 2003 Ford F250 in question, which revealed the vehicle was listed as stolen out of Providence. The officer additionally reports that the vehicle’s front passenger-side window was smashed, a portion of its dashboard was missing, its steering column lock was broken and its front hood was missing.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Bogusz made contact with its registered owner by phone.

LOST PROPERTY

Just after 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, dispatch asked Officer Thomas Greene to contact a woman by phone regarding a lost property report.

Greene called the woman, who said she believed she lost the items in question after visiting St. James Place at 200 Bald Hill Road on Aug. 10. The lost items include a wallet, Rhode Island driver’s license, medical insurance card, library card, BJ’s credit card and Target credit card.

The woman said checks with her credit card companies found no fraudulent charges had been made on the cards. The matter was documented.

LARCENY

Just after 1 p.m. on Sept. 9, Officer David Boardman received an online report of larceny of a package. The theft reportedly occurred between Aug. 28 and Sept. 9 at East Coast Lighting on Jefferson Boulevard.

Boardman spoke by phone with the owner of the business, who said an Etsy order valued at $257.99 had been delivered to East Coast Lighting on Aug. 28 and left outside a garage bay. Before the package could be taken inside, it was stolen, the business owner said. The package is said to have contained nutritional items, including vitamins.

The matter was documented.

STOLEN PLATE

Just before 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, Officer Evan Johnson met with a man at Warwick Police headquarters regarding the theft of a registration plate and certificate from a motorcycle.

The man told Johnson he had registered the motorcycle three weeks ago before taking it to a repair shop. When he went to pick up the motorcycle, he said, he discovered that the registration plate and certificate – which he had left in the middle armrest of his truck – were missing.

The matter was documented and the registration plate was entered into records as stolen.

SUSPENDED/NO LICENSE

Shortly after 10 a.m. on Sept. 8, Officer David Boardman was conducting a routine patrol on Post Road when he observed a 2008 Lincoln MKZ with New Hampshire registration pull out of a parking lot.

“The vehicle plates did not match, the vehicle was also heavy tinted, and it had a Massachusetts inspection sticker with no front plate,” Boardman reports.

Boardman initiated a motor vehicle stop on Earlham Way and made contact with the operator, who was found through a records check to have a suspended license and at least two previous convictions for driving with a suspended license.

Lawrence Thompson, 29, 8 Lusitana Ave., first floor, Cumberland, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license, third or subsequent offense, and transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing. He was later released with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court. ***

At approximately 9 a.m. on Sept. 7, Officer Matthew Caradimos was conducting a traffic enforcement detail at the intersection of Airport and Hallene roads when he observed a pickup truck turn onto Hallene Road from Airport Road.

The vehicle’s operator was not wearing a seatbelt, Caradimos reports. A check of the vehicle’s registration then revealed its owner was wanted on an active bench warrant issued from Third Division District Court.

Caradimos initiated a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the operator, identified as Eric A. Sangster, 29, 429 Howland Road, East Greenwich. He was taken into custody on the warrant and transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing.

While at headquarters, it was determined Caradimos had a suspended license and at least two previous convictions for driving with a suspended license. He was additionally charged with driving with a suspended license, third or subsequent offense. He was later transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Sept. 10, Officer Tyler Mobrice was traveling south on Post Road when he observed a 2002 GMC Yukon closely tailing another vehicle. The vehicle “had to brake multiple times in an attempt to avoid striking the vehicle in front it,” the officer reports.

Mobrice ran a check of the Yukon’s registration, which returned no results. At that point, he initiated a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the operator, who was found through a records check to have no driver’s license and at least two prior convictions for driving without a license.

Venisa Inez Carino, 37, 29 Regent Ave., second floor, Providence, was arrested on a charge of driving without/expired license, third or subsequent offense, and transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing. She was later released with a summons to appear in Third Division District Court. She was additionally cited for intervals between vehicles.
