CHOKING INFANT SAVED

Two Warwick Police officers are being credited with helping to save the life of a 16-month-old girl.

According to a statement, Officer Brian Holleran and Officer Anthony D’Abrosca were at the Kohl’s department store at 650 Bald Hill Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. on May 10 for an unrelated call when a woman began calling for help. The woman indicated an infant was choking.

The officers found the infant’s lips were light blue and she did not appear to be breathing. Holleran immediately began administering CPR any making attempts to remove any obstruction to the infant’s airway.

Holleran’s efforts were successful and the infant began to breath on her own. The officers monitored the girl at the scene until the arrival of Fire Department personnel, at which point the infant was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

“Thanks to Officer Holleran’s quick action the infant is expected to make a full recovery,” reads the department’s statement.
