Viola “Vicky” L. (Villari) Fratus peacefully passed away Saturday, December 16th, 2017.

Born in Providence, June 23rd, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Patricia (Curley) Villari. She was a resident of Warwick, R.I. for 40 years. A culinary comforter and master manipulator, able to turn basic ingredients into soothing meals that would “turn frowns upside down” with her carefully-crafted and heartfelt dishes. Her secret . . . lots of salt, Land O’ Lakes Butter and Berio Olive Oil. Most recognized for her traditional Thanksgiving Dinner and Legendary Eggplant. As Viola would say “I make the best eggplant.” A true explorer, she loved to travel and would spontaneously hit the road with a caravan full of family and friends, a cooler full of homemade eats, and then set her navigational nose to destinations near and far. Viola could give you directions from anywhere in the country. When lost, she would set you back on your path by simply asking “What are you near? Give me a landmark?” Viola had a smile that would light up the room. She made friends with ease. Everyone wanted to be near her. She was loyal and had your back. If you said the sky was purple, it was purple. Viola was incredibly considerate, always looking out for her kids and loved ones. Her generosity exceeded those with bountiful pockets, she gave all she had, and desired nothing in return. She was smart, funny, quick-witted and great in a crisis, always taking the leadership role. When asked what her biggest accomplishment was, she would proudly say with no hesitation, “My Kids.” She loved her kids with all her heart and they loved her right back and always will.

Viola was the beloved mother of Carla Kuhn, Barbie-Jo Fratus, and John Fernandes, loving grandmother (Nina) of Ronald Kuhn and Emma Coccia; sister of John Villari, Rose Villari, Francis Villari and

the late Patricia Morrissey.

Visitation will be held Sateuday, December 23, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. with a service to follow at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Viola's name to United Cerebral Palsy, 200 Main St., #210, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Information and condolences at TheQuinnFuneralHome.com

Viola was known for her big heart, words of wisdom and open door to all, with a warm plate waiting for you. She was authentic, genuine and truly enjoyed the life she lived. Her light is everlasting, she is infinite, eternal and whole. She is the warmth of the sun on chilly day and cool wind in the heat of summer. To honor her memory we ask that you breathe, breathe the deepest breath, and while you exhale, smile with joy.
