The Toll Gate and Pilgrim football teams each wrapped up wins this past weekend to close out their regular seasons on a high note.

The Titans topped visiting Exeter-West Greenwich in a thrilling 28-27 win to earn the final playoff spot in Division IV.

Despite trailing 13-6 at halftime, the Titans would roll in the second half to jump ahead and complete the comeback victory.

Kenny Morel, Greyson Pasquina, Anthony Shaw, Ethan Durand all rushed for touchdowns for the Titans.

“At halftime, the kids were a little down, but we told them, ‘If you guys want to make the playoffs, then you’re going to have to turn things around in the second half. You’ll have to do the best you can.’ They brought it and they did it. It was a battle, they did not want to lose,” Toll Gate head coach Jim Stringfellow said.

The Titans will now head on the road to take on the Tiverton Titans, who won their matchup earlier in the regular season.

Stringfellow and company are ready to leave everything on the field on Friday.

“They’re a great team, they’re well coached and their quarterback is phenomenal. We’re going to practice hard this week, throw in a few new things in the game plan. Like always, we’re going there to win, we’re only one win away from completing for a Super Bowl,” Stringfellow said. “It’s going to be a tough test for each team, but we’re going balls to the wall.”

Pilgrim cruised to a 53-20 non-league win against Juanita Sanchez during the club’s senior night celebration.

The Pats jumped ahead to a 53-12 lead in the first half and never looked back, digging into their bench down the stretch to secure the win.

Quarterback Mike Borges and Jordan Watts-Waters led the way for the Pats in the victory, with each rushing for three touchdowns. Demitri Ayres and Cesar Pascual also each recorded two rushing touchdowns in the win, while Danny Halliwell added another.

The Pats finished the season with a perfect 8-0 record and will host Narragansett this Friday in the opening round of the Division III playoffs.

Pilgrim recently topped Narragansett, 48-13, dealing the Mariners their first loss of the year.
