Thomas E. Goodrich, 68, passed away at the family home on June 20, 2019. He was a long-time resident of Warwick.

He was the son of the late Joseph L. Goodrich and Mildred N. (Shubert) Goodrich, brother of the late Joel Goodrich and stepson of the late Myrtle Goodrich. He earned a B.A. from Roger Williams College and a master’s degree in history from the University of Rhode Island.

Thomas was a proud volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, himself receiving the highest award of Eagle Scout. For many years he served as Scout Master for Troop 1284 Warwick and as a board member for the Narragansett Council of BSA. With an interest in local politics, he welcomed the opportunity to serve as Warwick Republican City Committee Chair.

He had a lifelong passion for music as an accomplished drummer, was a model railroad enthusiast and an avid collector. Thomas spent nearly 40 years in the recycling industry, most recently as a manager for Full Circle Recycling in Johnston. He will be remembered for his wit, knowledge and as a mentor to many.

He is survived by his loving wife, Arna J. (Potter) Goodrich. He was the proud father of son Nathan T. Goodrich (Julie) of Coventry and daughter Jenny A. Blanchette (Aaron) of Virginia Beach, Va.; caring stepfather to Hester N. Reid (Timothy) of E. Bridgewater, Mass. and Kellen J. Sibley of Shasta County, California; loving brother of Dawn G. Lomden (Peter Steiner) of Philadelphia, Pa. and beloved Papa to Lilah, Trenton and Uva.

Visiting hours were held on Sunday, June 23 in Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. The funeral service and burial were private.

The family requests donations be made to the Narragansett Council of the BSA.
