During the month of October, students from The Prout School in Wakefield planned a school-wide event and gathered more than 1,500 pairs of socks for the homeless. The socks were distributed to multiple homeless shelters in South County including Lucy’s Hearth in Middletown, Warm Shelter in Westerly, and the Jonnycake Center in Peacedale. The collection was organized by students in the social justice class at Prout.
