Frank McCourt’s best-seller, Angela’s Ashes, was turned into an excellent movie.

Buster Bonoff, who gave us so many wonderful years at the Warwick Musical Theatre, passed away.

Festival Ballet presented “Alice in Wonderland.”

The Avon scheduled a Marx Brothers Marathon. The midnight show was “Nighthawks,” a movie about homosexuality, which was pretty brave 40 years ago.

The Vienna Choir Boys were at the Ocean State Performing Arts Center.

The Art Tancredi Orchestra played dance music at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. Tickets were $3.

Brian Jones’ All Tap Review performed at the Scottish Rite Cathedral Auditorium in Cranston.

The Rhode Island Feminist Theatre presented “Paper Weight” at the Roger Williams Park Museum Theatre.

We reviewed Gregg’s Restaurant in Warwick. The corned beef and Swiss cheese sandwich was $3.05 and their famous chocolate cream pie was $1.05. An entire Black Forest cake was $7.75.

Richard Jenkins and George Martin starred in “The Suicide” at Trinity. I wrote that it was Jenkins’ “finest hour.”

Mary Hazel was singing at the Reef Pub and Lounge in Warwick.
