Stephen D. “Bluejay Warrior” Flynn, 73, a retired power plant engineer for the State of Rhode Island, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at home. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Linfield) Flynn for 53 years.
Stephen was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the Vietnam War, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was a member of the Air National Guard.
Stephen was the loving father of Sandra Lee Flynn-Brewer, Susan J. McCarville (Brian), Robert W. Flynn (Michelle), Sherry A. Hawkins (Raymond), and the late Stephen C. Flynn; brother of John “Running Deer” Brinn, Lillian Brinn, Jean Flynn, and Sr. Susan Flynn. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
His funeral service was held Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with Military Honors was in the R.I. Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours were Sunday. Information and condolences at TheQuinnFuneralHome.com
