To the Editor:

Care New England would like to take this opportunity to thank Speaker Nicholas Mattiello for his leadership and consideration during these unprecedented times in Rhode Island. His undying support for adequate financing of our health care system is well known at CNE. In addition, his interest in the great work in caring for babies in the NICU is indicative of the compassion shown for patients, their families and the hard-working staff.

During the pandemic, Speaker Mattiello, Senate President Ruggerio, Governor Raimondo and her staff have shown exemplary leadership to support all health care providers not only at CNE but at all health care institutions in the state. Our hospitals continue to be a key item on Speaker Mattiello’s agenda and a priority for the State’s budget. He recognizes the importance of our local healthcare delivery systems as we provide much needed services to Rhode Islanders.

We are proud to have a House Speaker who understands our business and thank him for his continued assistance and support of health care in Rhode Island.
