A food drive was held over the past month at all Saint Elizabeth Community locations and this week food was delivered to seven local food pantries in Providence, Bristol, Warwick, East Greenwich, Little Compton and North Kingstown.
“Our community was founded by women caring for individuals in need,” said Steve J. Horowitz, president and CEO of Saint Elizabeth Community, “and named for Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, also known for feeding the poor. As a not-for-profit mission driven organization, giving back to those in need is part of the fabric of our organization.”
Saint Elizabeth Community residents in both nursing homes and independent apartments, assisted living, as well as day center participants, homecare patients, families and staff came together to donate hundreds of pounds of food.
Saint Elizabeth Community founded in 1882 is a not-for-profit provider of care and services to seniors with 11 Rhode Island locations. Learn more at www.stelizabethcommunity.org.
