While Monday’s storm delivered heavy rain and high winds, knocking out power in parts of the state and bringing down trees and limbs, it could have been much worse says Carlos Pinheiro of Warwick Public Works. “We got lucky,” he said pausing Tuesday morning from cutting up a branch that fell on Strawberry Field Road, “It would have been big time had the leaves been out.” City DPW crews whether doing road work, making sanitation and recycling collections or clearing in the wakes of a storm have kept a steady beat even though much of the rest of the world has hunkered down under the threat of the coronavirus.
