Signs of appreciation

Parishioners of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on west Shore Road expressed their support and appreciation of health care workers and residents of the neighboring West Shore Health Center with lots of clapping, some horn honking, and shouts of thank you last week. “All were appropriately masked and distanced,” reported The Rev. Susan Wrathall. She said over the past ten years she has visited the center monthly to perform and to dispense ashes on Ash Wednesday, palms on Palm Sunday, and small gifts for St. Nicholas Day. In addition, church youth have been invited to trick or treat on Halloween, and sing carols at Christmas. “We have been co-hosting a Classic Car Show with the Activities Department at West Shore, so we have a real connection with patients and staff,” she said.
