Mayor Joseph Solomon participated Saturday in the distribution of 200 free smoke detectors provided by the Warwick Firefighters Union and through donations. The giveaway was held in place of the department’s traditional fire safety that was canceled because of the pandemic. And seeing that Halloween isn’t all that far away union president Michael Carriero couldn’t resist also handing out candy – while taking a cell phone call – when he spotted a car with kids.
