Cassie Cirella recently celebrated her pup’s first birthday along with the littermates known as the "Angel" puppies that were all adopted from the East Greenwich Animal Protection League. This puppy was named in memory of Cassie’s sister Gianna through a naming/donation program run by the East Greenwich Animal Protection League. Gianna, a Toll Gate student and member of the girls’ soccer team, died last November 1 after battling sepsis, a form of blood poisoning. The pup Gianna, since renamed Titan, was joined at Bow chika Wow Town in Warwick by almost all of the littermates adopted by friends of the Cirella family. There was lots of puppy playtime, a photo booth for all to get their first birthday photos and the evening was topped off by a purple doggie cake. Purple was Gianna Cirella's favorite color; she also had a tremendous love of animals. (Photo by Karen Kalunian)
