The Ocean State Pops made preparations for its upcoming concert at St. Kevin Church on Tuesday evening. A unique 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Ocean State Pops is an all-volunteer, 60-piece orchestra that began in 1993 with the mission of enhancing the cultural vitality and quality of life of the region through high-quality performances of great music and educational programming. Their upcoming concert will be held at St. Kevin Church (333 Sandy Lane in Warwick) on July 21 from 7-9 p.m. The performance this year, "From Rossini to Rodgers: A Salute to the Stage" is a themed program that will take the audience through "musical masterworks and audience favorites from 200 years of opera and musical theatre."
