After several mailboxes on Warwick Neck Avenue were raided and the contents discarded in nearby bushes, Patty Gomm decided she wouldn’t be taking chances anymore. After reporting the incident where she knows she lost a $25 gift card and a medical alert device and perhaps more, she installed a locking mailbox. To her knowledge, multiple mailboxes among the road were hit on two occasions. Police said they received two reports of mail being taken from mailboxes, both from Warwick Neck. They believe the incidents are unrelated to the vandalism of mailboxes that has happened in the past. In these cases, it appears the intent was to steal items of value from the boxes. The incidents are under investigation. Gomm wanted the situation reported, as she believes some neighbors may not even know they are missing mail. She urged neighbors to be vigilant and report incidents of people tampering with mail. (Warwick Beacon photo)

Invest in motion-activated game cameras. I have friends and family in RI who have caught thieves red-handed, cars and registration plate numbers included.
