Local officials got a tour of the recently opened Lifespan Urgent Care facility at Hoxsie Four Corners Tuesday evening. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Steven Lampert, MD, MBA, president of Lifespan Physician Group, and Timothy J. Babineau, M.D., president and CEO of Lifespan. Since opening last month, the urgent care has witnessed greater traffic than projected. On some days people are waiting outside the facility that opens at 8 a.m. Lifespan is planning to open a second urgent care in Middletown on Nov. 11 and a third in late spring in Providence. “On My Way,” an online feature provided by the unit, enables people to alert personnel they are on their way and speeds up registration. Also speaking at the open house were Mayor Joseph Solomon, Senate Majority Leader Michael McCaffrey, Bobby Hingorani, Director of Urgent Care Operations, Lifespan Physician Group and Olivier Gherardi, M.D., Medical Director, Lifespan Urgent Care. Here, Dr. Peg Miller walks through the easy process of registering on arrival at the facility as x-ray technician Tara Achterberg and Dr. Lampert look on. (Warwick Beacon photo)
