Hoxsie School fourth graders received bicycle helmets from members of the Rhode Island Association for Justice as part the association’s program to promote awareness of state law that requires children who are 15 years old and younger to wear a helmet while riding a bike, skateboard or scooter. The association has given out 450 helmets this year. And to reinforce the point, Cranston attorney Ken Vale rode his bike to the school – wearing his helmet, of course. Outfitting students (from left) Mike Hall, Julia Salivert and Kyle Cirelli with helmets are Kevin Daley, secretary and treasurer of the association, Vale and Sen. Michael McCaffrey. Make sure these kids know not to play ball on the street too. Ordinance 70-14 needs to be enforced so that we can get all these basketball hooligans off the streets and into the courts.
