The Teamsters and Kent County YMCA stepped up when it was learned the Rhode Island Convention Center was looking to donate 10 pallets of food – most of it perishable – Friday afternoon. As the Teamsters agreed to get the food to the Y, Y director Julie Casimiro quickly got on the phone to alert area food pantries of the bounty. They showed up at the Y, while others made deliveries to shelters. Foods included boxed ready-to-cook meals, yogurt and pizzas ready for the oven. Assisting to offload the food was off-duty members of the Warwick Fire Department.

Many thanks and congratulations to the Teamsters and especially to the Warwick Firefighters that donated their time and efforts to this great cause. The off-duty firefighters in Warwick deserve our respect for jumping in to help with little or no notice.

Did you hear that Rob Cote? They were off-duty! How about giving them credit for it, and don't use the words "but" or "however". Just, for once, give credit where credit is due. Fair enough?

    Happy Summer everyone.

Give the make-believe mayor time, Cat. He is certain to humiliate himself even more in future comments.
