Putting on the polish

Posted

City Council Chambers are shining like they were new after an extensive restoration project in the wake of a burst sprinkler pipe more than a year ago. The project, which included re-plastering portions of the ceiling, painting, gold leaf trim and a new hardwood floor, cost about $500,000 that was covered by insurance. During the restoration, City Council meetings were held in the Police Community Room. The chambers are scheduled to reopen for public use on April 12. Here, Victor M. Andino and Luis R. Irrizarry put finishing touches to the floor. (Warwick Beacon photo)
