Graphics arts students at the Warwick Area Career and Technical Center have a way of winning design contests sponsored by nonprofits and corporations. Instructor Jann Rogers Gartner has high hopes of continuing the trend. Her students have designed a Rocky Point license plate, t-shirts for the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon and the logo for the latest addition to the center, the Tides Cafe that is open to the public and run by students in the culinary program. The latest round of entries includes the annual poster sponsored by the Lindsay Ann Burke Memorial Foundation, a safe driving poster and video sponsored by AA Northeast and a logo for Pine River Orchards in Effingham, N.H.

Great accomplishment. Great design. I purchased one of the Rocky Point plates. Looking forward to its' arrival.

These students are helping our City attract new homeowners and new taxpayers that will help reduce the taxes for the rest of us and I like the idea that the awards don't cost taxpayers either. That's a win-win-win situation for us all.

    Happy Spring everyone.

For readers who appreciate full disclosure and facts, the prior blatantly political comment is from a failed candidate who did not pay the property taxes on his residence, to the point that an out-of-state company now owns it after paying off the tax delinquency: https://warwickpost.com/correntes-attacks-fail-on-the-facts/

When he talks about ideas "that will help reduce the taxes for the rest of us," it is telling that he does not mention paying one's own taxes on time.

Poor SCOT. Apparently, it's OK that someone is running for office talking about taxes when he has failed to pay his own. I guess it's too much for you that other people value ethics or good judgment in candidates for office.

But you go ahead, keep yelling at other people on this site. I'm sure the make-believe "mayor" appreciates the time and effort you're wasting.

    Dear "CrickeeRaven"

"For readers who appreciate full disclosure and facts," your exact words.

Giving your real name instead of hiding behind a bizarre fake one would be your first-step toward that.

It would "start" to give your words credibility. Until then you just don't matter.

I always give the "full disclosure and facts" of my real name. You are just too much of a coward, so you use a really strange "fake" name.

What are you afraid of? And why such a bizarre fake name?

Happy Spring Crickee, whoever you are.

Hey SCOT, maybe you can decipher the make-believe "mayor's" last comment.

He accuses me of being a "coward" for using a screen name -- but you use a screen name, too. So, isn't he also calling you a coward? And since he's calling you a coward, does that make him a bully?

I've been trying to warn you, SCOT, about supporting the make-believe "mayor." Maybe this time, you'll actually understand.

See how he sets himself up as a judge of "credibility" after having his statements proven wrong so many times? Or how he says that I "just don't matter," when he's the one who spent the highest amount of money since 2002 to lose a campaign and never gets mentioned by his own party's city council for their decisions?

Most importantly, do you see how he has no actual response to the facts about his tax delinquency, and then posts more and more replies on other articles, as if no one knows about it?

I mean, you certainly can keep defending him if you want -- I just want to make sure you get a clear look at just who you're defending, and as he has so often done, the make-believe "mayor" willingly provided that.

Lets not forget his $500.81 utility delinquency that was paid by someone else.
