An art break before finals

Posted

A few raindrops couldn’t deter about 150 Pilgrim seniors from participating in sidewalk art that was a ritual at Veterans Memorial High School and was rapidly adopted by Pilgrim when Vets transitioned into a junior high school. In fact, said some of the artists, some moisture helped spread the chalk used to transform blocks within the sidewalk to “album covers,” the theme for the coloring contest. Underclassmen and teachers judge the works, with bragging rights going to the winners. The artistic field day serves as a break between the end of classes last week and final exams starting this week, explained organizer Joseph Belanger. Art wasn’t the only activity to keep students busy. They played Frisbee and enjoyed burgers from the grill.

This should be only available to the students who would have attended Vets.

It's events like this one that make Warwick attractive to other communities.

Congrats to all who organized it, especially Joe Belanger.

    Happy Spring/Summer everyone.
