More than 100 Airmen and several C-130J aircraft from the 143d Airlift Wing returned to Quonset Air National Guard Base in North Kingstown on July 4-5 from a deployment to an undisclosed location in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

The Airmen include personnel from a cross-section of aviation operations, aircraft maintenance and support specialties. While deployed, they supported air mobility operations including troop movements, supply missions and humanitarian efforts.

“We are thrilled to welcome our Airmen safely back home after another outstanding performance in an overseas theater …We look forward to the safe return of all our deployed Airmen over the course of the next year,” Col. Michael Comstock, 143d Airlift Wing commander, said in a statement.
