Rose M. Rotondo, born September 15, 1926 in Providence, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2019 in Ocoee, Florida. She was the beloved wife of Angelo “Angie” Rotondo of North Providence (deceased 2012).

She was the daughter of Antonio Simeone and Maria Carmella (Fagnoli) Simeone of Providence. She married Angelo on July 6, 1946 after his return from World War II. They moved to Warwick in 1954 and raised four children. In 1995 Angelo and Rose moved to Central Florida.

Rose was a life member of The Daughters of Isabella Chapter at St. Benedicts Church in Warwick. Rose and Angelo were successful business owners in Warwick for many years, including Angie’s Barber Shop, The Rotonda Shopping Center and, of course, Rosie’s Kitchen in Cranston, Warwick and North Kingstown, where her famous meatballs were enjoyed by her customers and entertainers from the Warwick Musical Theater to the film production crews in Central Florida.

Rose is survived by her four children, Ilene E. MacNeil of Hope Valley, Josephine C. Rotondo of Ocoee, Fla., Angela Rotondo of Winter Haven, Fla., and Angelo F. Rotondo and daughter-in-law Donna Rotondo of Deland, Fla. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who got to know her as “Mom Rosie.” Her wonderful greeting and smile will never be forgotten.

A Christian Mass will be held at St. Kateri Church, 84 Exeter Road, Exeter, at 11 a.m. on June 27, followed by a reception in the church hall. She will be interred at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter with her beloved Angelo.
