Raymond V. O’Connor, age 76, of Joanna Drive, Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia D. (Brown) O’Connor. They were married for 54 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late James A. and Agnes V. (O’Neil) O’Connor, he lived in Warwick since 1976. He was a United States Navy veteran. Mr. O’Connor was employed by New England Telephone Co., later Verizon, for 36 years, retiring in 1997. He was a past president of the RI Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a past chaplain of the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Co. and past member of the Matunuck Volunteer Fire Co. A parishioner of St. Clement Church in Warwick, he was a former church choir member.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Raymond V. O’Connor, Jr. and his wife Gina, of Coventry; a brother, Robert O’Connor of Warwick; two grandchildren, Sean E. O’Connor and Kathryn M. O’Connor; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rose O’Connor, Joseph O’Connor, John O’Connor, and James O’Connor.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 26, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
