Man sought in connection with stolen auto parts
Cranston Police have asked for the public’s help in identifying a man who took various metal items and auto parts from behind a local business earlier this month.
Police have shared security camera footage taken at approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, on the department’s Facebook page. The footage shows a man pull in behind Park Avenue Auto Services and begin loading his red Ford F150 extended cab – without registration plates – with items including an engine block, transmission, exhaust pipes and a radiator. The total value of the stolen items is more than $2,000, according to police.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the man – who police dubbed the “Auto Parts Pirate” in the Facebook post – is asked to contact Detective John Ryan at 577-5066 or jryan 2 stole cash from Walmart register
Two people are being sought after allegedly prying open a cash register at the Walmart on Plainfield Pike on March 18 and taking more than $4,200, according to Cranston Police.
The two subjects, who are seen in images taken from security camera footage at the store and shared by police on social media, are said to have “quickly exited the store” after taking the money from the register.
“It is believed they are also the same suspects from a Walmart in Weymouth, Massachusetts, where they used the same MO and stole $4,000 two days prior to our larceny,” reads a Facebook post from police.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the two subjects is asked to contact Detective Sal Sanchez at 942-2211.
Anchor stolen from OSKC
Ocean State Kidz Club – a new facility at the former Blockbuster Video location on Park Avenue that offers after school, vacation and summer programming for middle school students – is seeking the public’s help after the theft of a decorative anchor from its property.
“Our OSKC anchor was a very special and sentimental piece,” the business wrote in a message on its Facebook page.
According to the posting, security camera footage showed two men in a white GMC Sierra 2500 or 3500 pickup truck pull into the location at 350 Park Avenue at approximately 9:40 p.m. on April 18 at take the anchor. The posting suggests a similar vehicle has been seen at the location of other property thefts in the state.
