The Pilgrim girls tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 loss last week to visiting Cranston East. The loss knocked the Pats out of the Division III playoff hunt.

Jenna Gustafson continued to shine this season in the No. 1 singles spot, topping East’s Mina Grady 6-2, 6-2. Alana Resendes won at the No. 3 singles spot, beating East’s Jianna Zambarano 6-2, 7-6, 11-9. The Pilgrim second doubles pair of Isabella DeMelo and Abigail Ricci won their match over Clemma Prince and Avery Hart 6-3, 6-3.

Pilgrim’s Samantha Sheehan fell to Maura Potter 6-7, 6-2, 2-7 at second singles while Abigail Vest came up short against Mathilda Corcoran 3-6, 4-6. Mia Gustafson and Kaleigh Catucci fell 2-6, 0-6 in the first doubles spot, while Madelyn Narcavage and Madison Boscia fell at third doubles, 6-4, 6-2.
