The defending champion Pilgrim boys hockey team split Games 1 and 2 with Mt. Hope over the weekend in the Division III semifinals. The Pats fell behind 2-0 in Game 1, but would surge in the final 15 minutes and put up four straight goals to claim the win. Jack Clements would score less than four minutes into the period on a power-play goal, followed by a goal from Matt Pacheco less than two minutes later. Dylan Gallagher would net the game-winner with 1:58 remaining, while Collin Driscoll would add some insurance on an empty-net goal in the final minute of action. James Cook would chip in two assists in the win while Driscoll and Aaron Sherlock added one each. Mt. Hope would get some revenge in Game 2 in Portsmouth, cruising to the 5-2 win and knotting the series at a game apiece. The two clubs will play Game 3 this evening at the Thayer Arena at 6 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Division III Championship series this weekend.
