Paul Vincent O’Neil of Warwick (formerly of Worcester, MA) passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 at Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Judith (Jaworski) O’Neil for 34 years. Paul was born November 5, 1930 in Worcester, MA, son of the late Anna Healy O’Neil and Willian D. O’Neil.

Paul graduated from St. John’s High School in 1947; Worcester Junior College with an Associate in Engineering in 1955 and Assumption College in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After high school, Paul worked for the Worcester Telegram Gazette. He then joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was an Electrician Mate 3CL on the USS Loesser. Once out of the service, using his engineering degree, he began his career with Western Electric in New Jersey. He then moved back to Worcester and worked for New England Telephone as a Power Equipment Engineer. His advancement with New England Telephone eventually brought him to the Marlboro Training Center as a Power Engineer Training Manager. Paul retired from New England Telephone in 1984 achieving a goal not many are able to do in their life—he was retired (36 years) for longer than he worked (28 years). Paul was an active member of St. Kevin Church in Warwick. He co-chaired a capital campaign; was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society; participated on the Christmas Bazaar Committee; and helped serve coffee+ to many parishioners. He enjoyed extensive travel with his wife, cheered on the Red Sox and Patriots, and loved his cats.

Paul was the beloved father of Michelle Elliott (David) of Auburn, MA; Stephen O’Neil (Jenness) of Bozeman, MT; Daniel O’Neil (Roberta); Sean O’Neil (Lisa), Maria Pietrowicz (David), Brian O’Neil (Holly) all of Worcester, MA; and step-son Brian Thibeault (Kelly) of South Kingston, RI. Paul also leaves 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
