CHAPTER 56

PURCHASING

Be it ordained by the City of Warwick:

Section I. Chapter 56 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Warwick is hereby amended to add the following:

Sec. 56-2. Purchases and contracts in excess of $2,500.00.

All purchases and contracts, including but not limited to the purchase of or contracts for professional services, in excess of $2,500.00 shall be subject to the provisions of this chapter as to notices and bids. The award of such purchases and contracts in excess of $2,500.00 is subject to approval of the city council. All bids submitted to the city council for approval, which are proposing to increase a bid that was previously approved by resolution(s) of the city council shall include the prior resolution(s) that approved the original bid and any subsequent amendments thereto in the new bid submittal to the city council.

Section II. This Ordinance shall take effect upon passage and publication as prescribed by law.
