Josephine Nelson, 90, of Warwick, died Monday, September 30, 2019 at Brentwood Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late William Nelson.
Born in Providence, she was one of 10 children of the late Michael and Michaelina (Flaminio) DeRotto. Josephine was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and visiting the casinos.
She is survived by three sons, David A. Nelson of Warwick, William R. Nelson of Charlottesville, Virginia and John T. Nelson of West Warwick; a daughter, Kathleen A. Adraince of North Kingstown; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was the loving mother of the late Karl S. Nelson.
Her visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
