John J. Trainor Jr. 82, of Warwick died Friday surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband Joanne T. (Healey) Trainor.

Born in Providence, a son of the late John J. and Helen A. (Whalen) Trainor, he had been a Warwick resident for fifty-four years. Mr. Trainor was a central office repair man with Verizon for over thirty years before his retirement. Jack was a long-time communicant of St. Timothy Church, a member of the Warwick Knights of Columbus and an avid cribbage player.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Kathi M. Alfred and her husband Glenn of Cranston; Maureen G. Trainor of Warwick; four sons, John J. Trainor III of Austin, TX, Michael P. Trainor of Warwick, Patrick G. Trainor and his wife Jackie of North Kingstown and Timothy J. Trainor of Warwick. He was the brother of Eileen A. Gilmore of Michigan, Helen M. Vezina of Warwick and the late Robert F. Trainor; Grandfather of Kyle, Joshua and Colby Alfred, Jack and Delaney Trainor.

His funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Ave., Warwick at 10 a.m. Calling Hours Sunday 3-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to St. Timothy Church will be appreciated. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. www.trainorfh.com
