John F. Dwyer Jr., 78, of Weaver Hill Road, Coventry, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Nancy (Gray) Dwyer.
Born on March 3, 1941 in Providence, he was the son of the late John F. and Dorothy I. (Fiske) Dwyer Sr. John worked in facilities maintenance at National Grid, Brayton Point, Fall River, Mass., for 28 years until retiring in 1998. He was a United States Marine veteran serving in peacetime.
Besides his wife Nancy he is survived by three children, John F. Dwyer III and his wife. Elizabeth, Donna Tiernan and her husband. J, and Tammy Dwyer; one grandson, Adam Dwyer; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Barrett and Norma Branch.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, December 11 from 4-6 p.m. in Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry. Burial will be private.
