Jane E. (Ryan) Hargraves, 88, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Hargraves, to whom she was married for 42 years.

She was a daughter of the late William J. Ryan and Mary E. (Masterson) Ryan Croake. Jane was a graduate of Hope High School, and attended CCRI. She was a secretary at Dieges & Clust, Providence, for 10 years, and for many years, a nursery school teacher at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Nursery School. Jane assisted her husband in their popular magic act after they both retired. They entertained at schools and libraries, throughout New England, and many times on TV. She was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, a longtime member of the Academy Players of East Greenwich, and worked back stage with several community theater groups. She was a past executive secretary of the Warwick Arts Foundation, a member of the Warwick Wanderers Walking Club, and the Pilgrim Senior Center. Mrs. Hargraves was a communicant of St. Benedict Church, and also was active at St. Rita Church, both in Warwick.

She was the mother of Peter, Brian and Todd Hargraves, and Amy Harnedy. She is also survived by three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and was the sister of the late William Ryan and Mary Niedzwicki.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave. at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
